Bathroom air hand dryers should be placed at least 2 feet apart and at least 12” from the washbasin. Do not install the hand dryer over the washbasin. Automatic hand dryers should be at least 18” above any projection which may interfere with the operation of the automatic sensor.  Most hand dryers require a dedicated circuit (max. 20 amp) and must be properly grounded. One side of the dryer should be mounted to a stud. All surface mount dryers are provided with conduit entrances for both between wall and surface wiring.  In an average traffic washroom it is suggested that you install 1 dryer per 2 washbasins, in a heavy traffic washroom install 1 dryer per washbasin and if your facility has a 54” wash fountain install 4 dryers per sink.
