The American Dryer Extremeair GXT6-C electric hand dryer is constructed using a virtually indestructible one-piece, 18 guage steel cover in a Satin Chrome finish. Two tamper resistant screws secure the cover to a steel base. The blower air intake is shielded for additional safety. The automatic sensor is a 100% solid state design which eliminates relay contact failures.  A microprocessor controlled infrared sensor turns the dryer on when hands are under the air outlet.  The GXT dryer turns off when hands are removed. There is also a built-in override that turns the dryer off in 80 seconds if the users hands are not removed.

The heating element on the GXT6-C is constructed of NiChrome resistance wire with an automatic resetting thermostat. It operates in the black range for maximum life and is enclosed within the blower housing making it inaccessible to vandals.  The motor is a 5/8 horse power, 24,000 RPM, powerful series commutated through-flow discharge vacuum motor/blower with an automatic resetting thermal protector.  It operates on 110/120 volt 50/60 Hertz circuits and draws 12.5 amps.  (Download the GXT Series Owners Manual)
