 The Maxlite Faux Can simulates the appearance of an installed recessed downlight while actually being flush-mounted to the ceiling (Looking for recessed can retrofit lights? With the appearance of a recessed light can and a flush recessed trim kit, the Faux Can is a flat CFL light source behind a frosted diffuser, ballast within the trim and a GU24 base on the back. Whether you are looking for new recessed ceiling lighting, recessed remodel or a new recessed baffle (also called recessed trims), the Maxlite Faux Can is a great energy efficient option.
These ceiling recessed lights come in either dimmable or non-dimmable versions. They are rated for recessed IC (Insulation Contact) applications and are also your solution for ICAT (Insulation Contact Air Tight) requirements. Installation is easy, especially in shallow or low profile recessed lighting applications. Simply make the opening where you would like to place your recessed lighting fixtures, install an electrical junction box to support the fixture and connect the fixture wiring to your electrical wiring (Note: a licensed electrician may be necessary to install new wiring and/or install your new Faux Can according to your local codes). A simple twist and lock GU24 connection completes the installation.
 ENERGY STAR Qualified and UL Listed, this low profile recessed lighting fixture includes the 26 watt CFL bulb which has a color temperature of 2700K and a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 84. The warm yellowish glow of an incandescent light that you are used to is about 2700-3000 degrees Kelvin (K) and has a CRI of 100. If you like that warmer color of light purchase CFL’s around 2700K.
The Maxlite MLFC26WWNI (70146) has a beautiful Nickel finish, includes (1) GU 24 base socket and adjustable cross bar for securely installing your new recessed fixture. They are just 7.9 inches wide and 1.4 inches MOL making them a great option for shallow recessed lighting applications. They incorporate an electronic ballast for Instant On, flicker free operation. These eco friendly lighting products consume just 26 watts of energy and produce the equivalent light output of a 75 watt incandescent bulb (1200 lumens).
 The Maxlite Faux Can is rated for 10,000 hours and carry a 2 year limited warranty. The minimum starting temperature is 0 degreees farenheit and the maximum operating temperature is 100 degrees farenheit. This fixture is NOT for use with dimmers.
