Every Lotus LED fixture is constructed with integral Epistar LEDs and the 120 volt, 60Hz, isolated, external, magnetic, constant current driver is factory installed inside the junction box. Lotus engineered all of their fixtures with the constant current driver in order run their fixtures at 90% of their rated current. This provides additional reliability and longer life. You need one driver for every fixture. Lotus engineers believe that if you have one driver for multiple fixtures you need to have an additional current regulator on every fixture if you want all fixtures to have the same brightness and the ability to dim simultaneously. The Lotus LED system is more reliable. Should you need to disconnect one fixture you would not effect the operation of the others. (Note: All connections in any ceiling requires a junction box, which Lotus provides as the driver compartment). Fixture comes connected to the driver by 12 long low voltage cable with waterproof connector in the middle. Depending on where you want the driver to be you have 2 options: To locate the driver next to the fixture simply run your line voltage wiring to the first junction box in your circuit and daisy chain to the junction boxes of the other fixtures, or install all of your drivers at one location and use low voltage extension cables to the fixtures (Use only extensions provided by the manufacturer. Available jumper cables are 6 feet (1.8m) and 20 feet (6m). Cables are linkable). The maximum run should not exceed 40 feet (12m).

There are two 6" models available to you from Lotus. The two primary differences are the brightness generated and the trim diameter and width. As for brightness: model LY6RCS generates 700 lumens and is a 65W halogen equivalent and model LY61RCD generates 900 lumens and is a 75W halogen equivalent. The trim diameter and width on model LY6RCS is 6 3/4 inch diameter (Note: The hole has to be carefully cut since there is no room for mistakes). Model LY61RCD is 7 inch OD. The trim is wider so this model may even cover existing holes. If you do not have the joists restriction go for the 1 inch thick models you can install less fixtures for the same brightness level. How much space do you need in the Ceiling? For the 6 inch fixtures you will need 1 1/2 inch space. The Lotus LED Light fixtures are really easy to install.

This item is the Lotus LED Lights LY61RCD/30K/WH. It is the slim, low profile, 15 watt, 6" x 1" thin, round, LED recessed down light with a white trim (a brushed nickel trim option is also available). The LY61RCD/30K/WH is Air-Tight and is rated for Damp locations (Not suitable for steam showers, saunas and outdoor locations where directly exposed to rain). This 6 inch LED retrofit has a beam angle of 110 degrees, generates 900 lumens of 3000K light and is designed to replace up to 75 watt halogen lights in recessed downlight applications. They operate on 120V, 60Hz input voltage (a 277v version is also available) and are dimmable down to about 20% when using approved dimmer switches.

Lotus can offer this because every single driver is powered for a minimum of 24 hours together with the fixture that it is shipped with.
