MaxLite offers a safer, more reliable alternative to the dual-mode lamps on the market with their new Hybrid Series UL Type A/B LED T8 Lamp. Designed as a universal solution, the Hybrid Series lamp can be used with a compatible fluorescent ballast (UL-A) or ballast bypass (UL-B). Unlike competitors’ lamps, the MaxLite product features improved integrated circuit (IC) technology that detects the lamp connection and corresponding operating mode. Each pin at the lamp base is engineered with a thermal fuse that detects overheating and responds by automatically shutting the lamp off. In addition, the lamp is packaged with a re-lamping label that provides a clear wiring description to help maintenance staff easily identify fixture modifications in the field. The MaxLite Dual Mode T8 also offers more robust ballast compatibility than competitors, including instant start, programmed start, emergency and dimming ballast compatibilities.
MaxLite's Type A/B tube works with compatible fluorescent T8 ballasts and/or directly from your 120 to 277 volt AC line voltage. These are called Dual Mode tubes or Hybrid LED Tubes. You have the option to remove the ballast and wire the socket directly to the AC line voltage to save more energy immediately, or wait for the ballast to fail and then bypass it. When bypassing the ballast - these tubes can be wired for single-ended power or double-ended power. When wired using single-end power, non-shunted sockets MUST be used. If wiring via double-ended power, these LED T8 tubes may be installed in either shunted or non-shunted medium bi-pin G13 lamp holders, thus saving 50-70% installation time and associated labor costs compared to retrofits using standard single-ended LED tubes.
These DLC Listed items are a 4 foot LED T8 retrofit tube that consumes 15.5 watts of energy when being used with a compatible ballast. When being used as a bypass LED Tube, this item consumes just 13 watts of 120V to 277V input power. This item generates 1,800-1,900 lumens of 83 CRI. The tube light has a rated life of 50,000 hours (at L70 standards) and it carries a 5 Year Limited Warranty.
